For years, Tomi played “livejukebox” gigs in Kuopio — a format where the audience could help shape the set by choosing songs. Later, Niko tried the same concept with his own band in Turku. The system was simple: printed A4 song lists left on every table in the bar.
And it worked.
The audience was excited. People wanted to take part. The interaction brought a different kind of energy into the room.
That raised a simple question: if this already works so well, why is it still happening on paper? And why not build tipping into it too?
Around that time, Niko was working at a tech company with Panu, and the idea started to evolve into a product. Tipsy was officially founded in 2022.
The company is established in Finland. Development begins.
Tipsy is tested in real gig conditions for the first time. Artists start earning their first tips.
Used across live venues in Finland and beyond. The product is refined with each performance.
Tipsy is available on the App Store and Google Play. Any live performer can sign up, set up a gig, and start earning.
The troubadour behind the original livejukebox concept. Tomi brings firsthand understanding of live performance to everything Tipsy does — because he's still doing it.
The lead developer. Panu turns the needs of live performers into software that actually works mid-set.
Steering Tipsy across business, music, and everything in between. Niko connected the original livejukebox idea to a real product, and keeps the company moving forward.
Our focus is simple: keep building a product that works for real artists in real gigs.
Over the next year, we want to keep improving Tipsy for solo performers and small groups playing interactive live shows — and make it easier for audience energy to turn into real income for the artist.
That's what we're building. That's who we're building it for.
